At the pool this morning, I saw a label for swimming flippers. The text is in italics, followed by my comments.

Flippers must be snug fitting to avoid damage.
Damage to what: the flippers, your body, the pool?
Be sure to wet feet before putting them on.
What about those of us without detachable feet?
