Are you pondering what I'm pondering?

Nothing Simple Is Ever Easy

To make a long story short (mainly because there are too many details to remember), my new computer is toast.  Everything the support techs had me do over the phone didn't work.  We can send tech support to your house for free, they told me -- as long as I bought a $200 warranty.  When I asked if I could take the computer back to the store to get it replaced, they suddenly remembered the free option:  they shipped me a box and prepaid shipping label, and I would send the machine back to them.  I dropped off the box at the package service's warehouse last week (and made sure to get a receipt).  Now it's a matter of "wait and see".

It's as if I had never left!

The weather was good for my return to Tulsa.  Sky was sunny.  Wind was lighter than the day before.  Temperature was friggin' cold (for us Southwesterners), but I'd be in my car all day, so oh well.

I was quite surprised, then, to pull into the apartment parking lot and see snow and ice all over.  Apparently, it wasn't just cold that hit NE Oklahoma.  (I don't know if it was in OKC, since it was already dark when I passed through that city.)

Roads were pretty good, but we were spreading ice melt out the wazoo today.  (And that's not a comfortable thing to do, let me tell you!)

We got between 1 and 2 inches, depending where you look.  Here's a pic from my apartment complex.  I like the contrast between the snow and the ice-free swimming pool.
Actually, a better contrast would be to tell you that, when I visited my friend Robomarkov in Tucson on New Year's Eve, it was 74 degrees, so we sunbathed in his backyard!
